e-Sign Disclosure & Consent Agreement

Please read this document carefully and print or save a copy for your reference. Feel free to refer to it by accessing the Resources section on the Vicinity Credit Union home website. We are required to provide disclosures, notices, receipts, statements, and other communications to you related to Vicinity Credit Union’s products and services that you may access via our mobile and online banking platforms, and you have the right to receive this information on paper. Vicinity Credit Union may provide this information to you electronically or digitally only if we provide this Vicinity Credit Union E-SIGN Member Consent to Use Electronic Signatures and Documents disclosure to you and obtain your consent to receive electronic documents, use electronic signatures, and conduct transactions electronically.

1. Agreement to receive Communications in electronic form.

By agreeing to this Disclosure, you consent to receive all Communications related to Vicinity Credit Union products and services electronically or digitally. Your consent remains in effect until you give us notice that you are withdrawing it. At times, we may still present you with paper disclosures or other Communications that contain important information about your account, and you should continue to review any correspondence that we mail to you. “Communications” may include any member agreements or amendments thereto, disclosures, notices, responses to claims, transaction histories, statements related to the maintenance or operation of products and accounts, privacy policies, and all other information related to the products or services, including, but not limited to, information that we are required by law, regulation, or rule to provide to you in writing.

2. Products and services you have previously obtained.

You may have previously sought to obtain a product or service from Vicinity Credit Union. By consenting to this Disclosure, you agree that we may provide you with all Communications for those products or services in electronic format, regardless of whether you elected to do so in the past.

3. Products and services you may seek to obtain in the future.

You may seek to obtain new products and services from Vicinity Credit Union. When you do, we may remind you that you have already given us your consent to provide you with all Communications in electronic format. If you then decide not to be provided with Communications in electronic format for a new product, your decision does not mean that you have withdrawn consent for any other Vicinity Credit Union product.

4. Form of Electronic Communications.

We will provide Communications to you in electronic form by (1) email, (2) SMS text message, * (3) online banking, or (4) mobile application. *

5. Withdrawal of consent.

Any withdrawal of your consent to receive Communications will be effective only after we have a reasonable amount of time to process the withdrawal.

6. Updating your records.

You agree to provide us with your valid email address and other contact information related to this Disclosure and your Vicinity Credit Union accounts, and to promptly update any changes to that information. You can update your information through our online banking services or visit your local branch.

7. Hardware and software requirements.

To access, view, and save electronic communications, you need the following:

  • An active Vicinity Credit Union User ID and Password.
  • A device (such as a computer, smartphone, mobile device, or tablet) that can connect to the Internet or download our mobile applications, equipped with an operating system like Windows, Mac OS, iOS, or Android, and a supported web browser such as Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari, or Firefox.
  • An Internet connection.
  • Sufficient local storage to save communications and/or a printer for printing them.
  • A valid email account along with the necessary software to access it.
  • Software capable of viewing and displaying files in HTML and PDF formats.


Should there be any updates to our hardware or software requirements that could significantly impact your ability to access or retain electronic communications, we will inform you of the updated requirements. Your continued use of this service following the notification of such changes will be a reaffirmation of your consent to the new agreement terms.

8. Withdrawing Consent

There will be no charge for processing your withdrawal of consent to receive communications via electronic delivery. However, this may result in the termination of your access to the services or specific features of your accounts. Please note that your withdrawal of consent will take effect only after we have had a reasonable time to process it.

We reserve the right to consider an invalid email address or the failure of a previously valid email address as a withdrawal of your consent to receive communications electronically.

Please be aware that a withdrawal of consent does not affect any tax documents that were provided electronically prior to the effective date of your withdrawal. However, if we are required to send you additional tax documents after your consent has been withdrawn, these will be sent in paper format.

Make sure to include your full name, contact number and a description of your request.

9. Updating Your Information

You are required to supply us with a valid, accurate, and complete email address, mobile phone numbers (if applicable), and any other information pertinent to this E-Sign Consent and your Accounts. Additionally, you must promptly update any changes to this information. You can update your records by visiting your local branch or in online banking.

10. Requesting Paper Copies

Unless requested, a paper copy of any communication will not be provided, if electronic consent has been given. You may print an electronic Communication yourself or request that we send you a paper copy, if your request is made within a reasonable time period after we initially provided the Communication via Electronic Delivery. Please note that we may impose a reasonable service fee for delivering paper copies of any Communication that was provided to you electronically, with prior notification of such charges.

To request paper copies of electronic Communications:

  • Visit your nearest branch location.
  • Call us at 773-376-6000 or send us a Secure Message via Online Banking at vicinitycreditunion.com or the Vicinity Credit Union Mobile app.


11. Accounts with Multiple Owners

Each Account owner may provide an email address for the account in connection with each owner’s consent to receive electronic communications. Enrollment in Electronic Delivery for communications, including account statements, requires the authorization of just one account owner to manage preferences for any category of communications.

For electronic notifications regarding paperless statements and other communications on a joint or multiple-owner account, you agree that notifications sent to the email address of the account owner who enrolls in Electronic Delivery will be considered delivered to all account owners, regardless of whether all owners have access to that email address.

12. Additional Provisions for Tax Documents

By consenting to this E-Sign Consent, you consent to the delivery of any Tax Documents through Electronic Delivery. Each of the following applies to the Electronic Delivery of Tax Documents:

  • You are not required to receive Tax Documents through Electronic Delivery. If you elect not to receive Tax Documents electronically, we will provide you with a paper copy by postal mail.
  • Your election to receive Tax Documents through Electronic Delivery allows us to use Electronic Delivery to deliver any Tax Document which we are legally permitted to provide to you now or at any time in the future until such time that you withdraw your consent.
  • You may receive a paper copy of any Tax Document by requesting a paper copy through the procedures set forth in the section titled “Requesting Paper Copies” above.
  • You may withdraw your consent at any time through the procedures set forth in the section titled “Withdrawing Consent” above.
  • We may terminate Electronic Delivery of Tax Documents at any time or make them available electronically for a limited period.
  • We will notify you when each Tax Document is available and if any document is undeliverable.
  • Hardware and software requirements are described in the section titled “Hardware and Software Requirements” above.


13. Governing Law

You acknowledge and agree that your acceptance of this E-Sign Consent is related to a transaction that impacts interstate commerce. This consent is governed by the federal Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (the “E-SIGN Act”).

14. Termination/Changes

We retain the right to cease providing you with electronic communications or to modify or terminate the terms and conditions under which we offer these communications. We will notify you of any such termination or changes mandated by law.

15. Acceptance and Consent

By agreeing to this E-Sign Consent, you acknowledge and accept the following terms:

  • I have read and agree to the terms and conditions outlined in this E-Sign Consent.
  • I have internet access and the ability to download and review PDF files.
  • My consent to receive Communications electronically remains valid indefinitely.
  • I may incur costs related to accessing electronic communications.
  • I am authorized to provide consent on behalf of all co-owners of my accounts.
  • Vicinity Credit Union will not be held liable for unauthorized access to my personal device.
